Testex Tape
A high-resolution replica tape used to measure surface roughness on blasted steel using a micrometric gauge
Testex Tape is a widely used tool for measuring the surface profile of abrasive-blasted steel. The tape consists of a compressible foam layer that, when pressed onto a prepared surface, captures a physical impression of its roughness. Once applied and burnished, the tape is removed and measured using a Testex Gauge to determine the peak-to-valley depth. This method provides reliable and repeatable results, ideal for verifying surface preparation before coating application. Testex Tape is available in various profile ranges to suit different blasting conditions Supplied in rolls of 50 impressions
